This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week at school and it was filled with support, love, and food. Lots and lots of food all week long. I didn't pass any of it up. I knew I was going down a road that I had been down before and this time I knew there was a U-turn up ahead.
This weekend I did some thinking and some talking with Steven and I decided that it was time to take the reigns again. I am controlling the wheel and I can steer it down any path that I choose.
Today we cancelled our memberships to Bally's for reasons that are not negative, but personal. I felt like I had gotten a terrific head start there and I was motivated and supported through my first 30 pounds but that it was not where I belonged for the long term. SO, Steven and I excitedly took a tour and then joined our local YMCA. The programs and the facilities, the community and the people all felt right. It is the place I can see myself finishing my journey and maintaining my healthier life style.
Life is incredible and everything does happen for a reason. After signing up for our Y Membership we were driving home and I was reviewing the info packet. At the bottom of the welcome letter sat a quote that read, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." No where in the quote does it mention which direction you should step. You just have to take the step and learn from each one, as they all have important lessons to teach. We learn them right away or we can discover their lessons later. Just keep stepping and enjoy the journey.
-Not giving up yet, you shouldn't either!
